The Anatomist's Wife by Anna Lee Huber

4.0

I'll admit I was interested in finding something to fill the void after I finished watching Miss Scarlet and the Duke and the Lady Darby series was one mentioned in my search. I thought it was a very apt suggestion although it didn't have as much humor threaded through it as the show did.

I liked that Anna Lee Huber pretty much starts things off with a scream and keeps going from there filling in the expositional information as the mystery proceeds. This really kept the story moving at a good clip.

When all was said and done, I wasn't super surprised when the murderer was revealed, but of course you come for the mystery and stay for the delicious interactions between Lady Darby and Gage. I do love how the end leads perfectly well into the next book which just means I have a new series to binge. Luckily my library seems to have all these available in audio.
