How did I not predict that ending?! I feel like I should have, but I definitely didn't even consider it. Which makes me like the story more. There were some lulls and slower moments in the book that I skimmed because I was losing interest, but I enjoyed the plot.
Sometimes it was a bit repetitive because the start to many chapters were just repeating the previous moment in another character's viewpoint. I think that's where I skimmed most, which I hate to do. Many of the side characters got very lost in the story. At times I felt like they'd become more important, but they were forgettable -- especially the husbands. This was definitely meant to be a female driven story (exemplified by the funeral scene at the end).
I love when I don't predict the twist though, so I have to give credit to Fiona Barton for writing a surprising resolution to the story.
