I really like Morrissey’s writing style- it’s light, fun, and engaging. She’s good at writing banter. I wouldn’t have expected reading about two people doing bits all the time to translate that well. It’s a basic concept, but she makes it feel fresh. That said, although I appreciate that she tried to circumvent the typical third act drama by
having them deal with their long separation early on, I didn’t feel like I fully got why they didn’t talk for TEN YEARS? Maybe it was just hard to connect with bc it happened so far in their past and we weren’t flashing back to it. Not sure.
