This was such a fun read. I had seen the movie multiple times, years before but never had the opportunity to read this. I enjoyed this book immensely. Gaiman's style was whimsical and fun, flowing with shades of dark humor and light which made it overall, a great read.
There are things about the movie I did like better, such as the ending felt more movie-like than in the book. There were things in the book tha I liked that weren't in the movie. I liked that the world he created, he didn't go into much detail. He left it alone. There was no backstory about a lot of the events and we, as the audience, are to take the few details he does give in stride. That was a wonderful addition for me as it left me wondering what other stories might come from this fantasy.
