The conclusion to this beautiful series was more than I could ever ask for. The cover is absolutely stunning and probably my favorite one out of all the books I own which was a plus. This book expanded on everything that I felt needed more dimension from the first book. Daud showed us more of this world that she had created for this series and the complexity of its systems. The wider lense she gave us to see this world made the story seem so much more real. The character of Maram was fleshed out amazingly and I found myself finally understanding how she became the person she was today. Her perspective was very much a needed addition to the story and I really enjoyed reading from it. Her redepemtion arc was truly a sight to be seen and I ended up loving her character in the end. The friendship between Amani and Maram really warmed my heart and actually brought me to tears at one point in the book. Amani and Idris were lovely as usually and I couldn’t ask for a better love interest for her. Amani as a character by herself was three dimensional and I really was rooting for her throughout every part of this story. Daud’s writing is as much of a beauty as it was in the first novel. This was such a wonderful conclusion to a very imaginative and powerful fantasy series.
