The Lesbiana's Guide to Catholic School by Sonora Reyes

4.0

This is one of those books that made me feel in my soul. Everything Yami went through I felt incredibly connected to, particularly her fear of coming out to her parents.

I love that this book questioned Catholicism and the church’s attitude towards the LGBTQIA+ community. The arguments that Bo made and how that changed Yami’s perspective on her sexuality felt incredibly familiar. I was cheering her on as she realized she shouldn’t and wouldn’t feel shame and would be who she is.

I’m so happy that Yami and Bo got time to be happy and cutesy together after all the angst. Everyone deserves happiness, and I’m so glad they found it.
