Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

3.0

This took me way too long to get around to. I would always get to the same place and lose interest and though I did try to buddy read this earlier in the year with @booksandcrannys but I just couldn’t get into it and DNF’d for the time being. The audiobook really helped me read the original story and get a better grasp of it.

The films do it much justice but it was nothing to hear it read to me. I was so glad to grab a free copy of a Librivox recording of Pride and Prejudice on Audiobooks.com. If you struggle to read classic literature, I’d definitely recommend grabbing an audiobook of the book.

I think I’m confident that classic literature isn’t really my thing and that’s ok, but I’m glad I finally got to read this and finally get through the whole story. I still don’t get why Darcy is so fawned over. His eventual declaration was so wonderful but the slow burn was just too lingering. I did NOT like Bingley at all and found him too flighty and malleable. Lizzy was given much more characterization than in the films I’ve seen though and I loved getting to see her perspective more in-depth.
