This book was the most disappointing out of the series. It felt more like a romance book than a dystopian sci-fi..... The author focused too much on the wrong things at the wrong time which kinda contributed to strange pacing issues imo but it was still pretty fun to read.
In this book we get to see the finale of the humans vs. muties and I actually like what the author did when it came to the stand off... It felt like a little bit of a cop out but considering where the muties came from...and how they were somewhat "engineered" it made sense. It almost brought about the human vs monster argument which I liked.
Deuce and Fade were actually coming to terms with their feelings finally but again I wish the author choose to kinda approach it differently... We got their romance mainly in the middle of the book and I felt like it would've been better had the author choose to add sprinkles of their romance in the middle and the focused on it more after the war ended.
Another thing I didn't like was how the use of Stalkers character was kinda discarded.... He was actually my favorite character dispite all the fucked up things he did and it's because I felt like he had the most character development out of all 4 teens and the author kinda throws it all away by killing him off.... I mean I get why she did but it just felt like another cop out... only reason I didn't deduct points was because Stalkers death actually made me cry....
Overall my least fav book in the series but it was a decent conclusion and I still had fun reading it.
