This has the triple threat of beautiful language, stunning plot, and finely rendered characters. It isn’t like anything else I’ve ever read. It makes the reader consider the power of family, faith, and work. It leads to questions about leadership and power and love. It wanders paths of beauty that dead end in shock and grief and emerge to redemption.
