I love the way that this story weaves together the lives and challenges of so many characters. I became quickly invested in all of them, good or bad, or sea serpent. The themes are rich and touch each of the stories, but don't feel heavy handed. The writing is easy to follow as it builds a complex world. The ending kept me so invested and of course excited to continue the story with Mad Ship.
