4 because of the accent —Anna Fields Texas drawl is the reason I continued to stay intrigued by the story.
Narrative is 3.5/3.75
Slow beginning but once it picked up I was intrigued. Of course it should be read considering it’s based on the 90s and was printed prior to 2000s but I think it’s part of the charm. Yes lots of misgyony from Dan that made me not love him in the words but I love how current they created the setting
I also felt SO BAD FOR PHOEBE. But I’m happy that she got a happily ever after. The ending was so bizarre, case of author trying to do the most but overall most points were connected and not many loose ends
