Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini

5.0

Excellent book involving mythology, starcrossed love and plenty of secrets, mysteries and discoveries. I loved everyone in the Delos family - especially Hector. Helen sometimes irritated me - the girl really could use her brain for deduction better and not live in denial. The idea with Troyan war is brilliant, as well as names of the characters, and though at first the action develops slowly - it speeds up with every page and the ending is pretty head-turning. Absolutely highly-recommended!
I honestly don't understand, how some readers can give only one or two stars to this book (there are plenty of such ratings on Goodreads). Even if this is not your type of book - it deserves at least 3 stars. If you don't know or understand Greek mythology - don't read books based on it - there is no need to diss the author's hard and amazing work and belittle it with such ratings. You also confuse potential readers - they think the book isn't worth attention and miss a really good reading experience. It happens that some books demand patience and applying your memory skills more than others, but that's not a reason to be mean in your review and call the book boring. What is infuriating, that some readers haven't finished the book - read only several chapters and they deliver their judgement as if they know what happened in the book. That is not fair!
