I’ve read lots of Jane Austen inspired books but this one felt so unique and like a fresh concept. And I totally flew through this book. I started it this morning and ended it before dinnertime. What an entertaining read!
In this story the Benedettos are reality tv famous. They became wealthy because of their dad’s pizza restaurant. But they became famous because of the show.
The problem now is that they don’t have as much money anymore and they’re famous more in a joking way. It’s unfair to the daughters who are in their twenties and thirties now but were much younger when their show was on.
When Charlie Bingley and Will Darcy move in next door of course it gets the household talking.
In this story, Charlie and Will are up and coming actors from respectable families and the idea of associating with this reality tv family might not be the smartest career move.
But of course Charlie and June connect and so do Will and Lilly.
It’s much more complicated with Will and Lilly though because they both have a lot of ghosts in their past.
There’s serious topics discussed in this book like anorexia and attempted suicide but I felt it was done respectfully. And despite those subjects, the book never felt too heavy to me. It was a real page turner and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
