Honestly, while the book could’ve been shorter and less repetitive it provides some needed background and sets up nicely for the next from Blood & Ash book (which unfortunately I will be reading bc I want to know how the series ends). For some reason JLAs writing style really bothered me while reading this, it felt very juvenile and the I felt like there was an abundance of more “modern” phrases which took me out of the story. Some of the more spicy scenes were also cringey.
Overall, this book could’ve conveyed the necessary information without 700+ pages but it was a decent read.
