My younger sibling is reading this series so I decided to re-read this book. For some reason, I wanted to read it again. 

And I understand why now. I could related to Honey so much, especially when I was thinking about my teenage years. And how the "perfect" family she had was only perfect because her mother was trying to protect the dad's reputation for the girls sake. 

Growing up is hard because you start to understand that you've been wearing your pink glasses for way too long. 

And once you understand that... you cannot put them back, no matter how much you try
