Knowing this book is the big rising action as the third book in the series, it set up the final two books nicely. There’s conflict throughout the book but also sets up a larger problem to tackle in the next books as a solid middle-of-the-series book should.
I think a big series can be judged by how lovable the side characters are, and this book made me love Ridoc and Sawyer even more. It made we want to shake Xaden, but it’s easy to understand characters’ actions even if they aren’t the smartest.
The book was fun and engaging every step of the way. I don’t think for a second I even thought scenes weren’t necessary, because again, this is the third book. If things don’t come back up in Onyx Storm, they will later in the series.
Can’t believe I have to wait so long again before the next book, but they’ll be worth the wait.
