Trigger warning, expanded from the content warnings: cancer of a pet. This was very triggering for me and I almost wanted to stop reading based on the way this was handled in the book.
By the end of the book I was weary about how easily things turned around. It felt like the two h lves were an over simplification from "my life is horrible, lonely, depressing" to "everyone loves me."
