This is my second Stephen Graham Jones book, while Night of the Mannequins did something different and seemingly more nebulous with where we see the protagonist by the end [at least, I think. I still find myself thinking about that one from time to time]. The Clown Brigade left you with no doubt about how it would end while still leaving you horrified at what you know will happen after the last line. It's a twisted tale we've all seen before [way too many times, unfortunately] but will nonetheless make you feel uncomfortable—terrified for those around Kyle. All in the span of an hour.
