Sally Rooney has managed to near perfectly encapsulate how falling and being in love in the modern era manifests itself. She depicts genuine, flawed human connection in such an authentically beautiful way. A depiction I found relatable to my own experiences with romance, as well as mental health, friendship, family, and searching for purpose and belonging as a new adult. The way she described the small, mundane everyday moments made this a truly immersive and beautiful reading experience. I loved Marianne and Connell, I couldn’t put this one down and I’m excited to read more from Sally Rooney.
