Copper Creek by Cate Ashwood
4.0
Book Three increases the gay population of time Sawyer’s Ferry
In book three Holden’s friend Frankie comes to Sawyer’s Ferry to plan Holden and Gage’s wedding and meets Barrett, owner of Copper Creek Brewing Co. There’s an instant attraction but Barrett is straight...or is he?
I’m generally not a fan of the GFY trope. I think it’s because in my head it undercuts the “it’s not a choice” argument. I guess it depends how the author writes it and if it comes across as believable the way the attraction and subsequent getting together happen.
Ashwood does a good job describing Barrett’s attraction and confusion so it doesn’t seem so out of left field. I love how Frankie knows who he is, good and bad, and owns it.
The ending is straight out of a rom-com and so sweet. It’s a fun read.
