If I had wanted a soap opera full of relationship melodrama, I would have turned on my TV and watched one. I skimmed over a lot of it but the cringe was still almost too much to handle. I only kept pushing because when the monsters did show up, it was actually engaging and I was curious about the ending, but it turned out to be underwhelming after all. I give this 1.5 stars instead of a flat 1 only because of the monster scenes, most of them anyway.
