Spoon by Amy Krouse Rosenthal

5.0

I normally don't review children's picture books because they are so short that anyone can pick them up and read them in 10 minutes. But I felt the need to rate this one because I LOVED it and have been thinking about it a lot lately.

The story consists about a spoon who looks at knife, fork, and chopsticks and thinks about how great they are because of the things they can do that spoon can't. What he doesn't realize are all the amazing things that spoon can do that the other utensils look at him in amazement with (like diving head first into a bowl of ice cream).

I have found myself like spoon a lot lately - looking at others and wishing I was like them. I think this book resonated with me so much because it's a reminder of my own gifts and blessings and to be grateful for what I have.
