And so it ends.
This book barely had any Slayer in it, there were so many other characters and events that it focused on that Gotrek felt like a secondary idea, even Felix got more air time which was unfortunate.
I did like what they decided to do with Gotreks doom, and that is pretty much the only thing I truly enjoyed. Everything else felt like treading water, just mindless battles and information. If this wasn’t a book about Gotrek and Felix it’d be interesting, but given that it is and the final book no less it ended up being annoying.
Also, so many people died, many of them old members of the series. It’s a wonder that there’s anybody left. I get it, it’s the end of times, I just didn’t expect practically everyone to die. Perhaps it gives way for new characters to come forward.
