I do almost always enjoy Stephen King books. Do I usually break world records for reading when I consume them? No, never. I just spent 5 hours sitting on my ass finishing the last 400-450 pages of this thing.
It does have a lot of problems. It's by Stephen King, prepare for tasteless comments about women and people of color... not excusing that, obviously, but it's unfortunately a feature of his writing especially from this time period.Case in point: the magic black person trope that is the core of the book.

Graphic: Death, Misogyny, Racism, Torture, Violence, Murder
Moderate: Animal death, Rape
The book includes graphic scenes of and is, in major part, about capital punishment, specifically the electric chair. It's also about prison life, majorly.
