This was perfectly cute until it wasn’t. I was so excited for this one after reading the blurb but unfortunately that excitement wasn’t matched in the pages. Buying a lighthouse, a hot former classmate, drunken pacts. This had all the potential but didn’t come together for me. Yes there was a fun project and yes there was some chemistry but I wasn’t invested in the characters and I think our female lead is a bit immature. Family history aside, I struggled to get over how much she freaked out about kissing a man who is going through a divorce which caused the chemistry they had in the beginning to fizzle out by mid-book and I just didn’t find myself invested through the rest.
