The Play by Elle Kennedy

3.0

I wasnt a fan of Hunter when he was first introduced, and that seems to be a going theme with the main characters of these recent books. But he definitely grew on me in this book. But again, pretty much all the MMC’s do. Demi, she was alright. Nothing much stood out about her to me. Now, she does have a boyfriend in the beginning of this book. She doesn’t sleep with him on paper but it’s mentioned they do and they kiss. That doesn’t bother me at all. I like the shake up but I know it will absolutely rattle some peoples bones. She does make out with someone else besides Hunter and her boyfriend. Again, didn’t bother me but I know it will other people. It does, however, bother me how much she absolutely pestered the crap out of Hunter about him breaking his celibacy to be with her. Like she dang near forced it. Let’s just say she did force it because that is what she did. Which ticks me off. If the rolls were reversed people would be throwing a fit. He made her promise not to want to ever sleep with him and what did she do the moment she broke up with her boyfriend? Try to sleep with him. She lost so many points with me. And to be so naive about her guy friends liking her. To the point of wanting to kill themselves. Like yikes. And I feel like the “I love you” came out of nowhere. Like they were just sleeping together for a couple weeks. Nothing big happened between them and he just said it? This book felt a little messy to me lol I liked Hunter and he was interesting to watch try not and sleep with anyone. But that was about all I liked. And the epilogue with Hollis and Rupi was just the icing on the messy cake lol like what??
