I didn't expect to like this book, judging from the first BDSM book I've read which I've abandoned (the famous Fifty Shades if you ask), it traumatized me with the genre. I have come to terms with myself that BDSM won't be one of my favorite ingredient in reading a romance novel, I was totally convinced with that truth. The idea of Dominance-Submission wasn't that appealing to me, with all due respect to those who does.
That was my opinion until I've read Wicked Ties. Culture shocked and recoiled with self-shame from my Catholic self yet entertained and intrigued all the same. Sure there were a lot of R18 scenes on this read which kinda zoned me out from my comfort but I love how Ms. Black made me understand BDSM: trust, respect, pleasure with pain, and fun. I love how she took the characters one step at a time from exploring each other to falling for one another, I love the mix of mystery and thrill of Morgan's stalker. I appreciate the hint idea of destiny. Romantic but not mushy which is A for me (Great job!) and I love Ms. Black's writing, thank gaaahd it didn't gross me out, it was done flawlessly with the right amount of sexy.
Jack's French added everything to the spice romance and sexy, I love Deke and his friendship with Jack and Brandon is a character I want to discover more. This book is the first that I've read from Ms.Black and this won't be the last. I've had a taste and I'd be coming back for more 😊.
