John Irving is one of my favourite writers. No matter what the subject, he always writes well. Garp is not my favourite, but a close second to Owen Meany. I laughed; I cried; I related. It's about people. It's about a world that is not safe for either kids or grown ups.

This was a re-read, and every time it's like the first time.
