"The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.” My god, what a trip. This story made me cry, get excited, want to know more, and obviously provided many answers (whether they are satisfactory or not depends on each reader). What is at stake, what is lost, because and how it is lost, is handled masterfully (evidently with its problems, not everything is perfect). And that ending, my god, as King so rightly says, is the only way he could have ended his story, even if not everyone likes it. Truly a wonderful story and by this I am not just referring to book VII, but to the entire saga that deeply analyzes the character that is Ronald Deschain. I also don't want to leave aside the incredible characters that are Jake, Eddie, Susannah and Oy. Each one of them contributes incredibly to the story and it wouldn't be the same without them, their affection and what they do for each other are a delight to read. I am a widower of the dark tower, but like everything it has a beginning and an end, with nothing more to say, long days and pleasant nights.
