people seem to be saying that this is disappointing for ishuguro, but i haven't read anything else by him so to me it was good!!! this book was highly interesting sci-fi. artificial intelligence is nothing new, but to approach artificial intelligence from a child's perspective, to provide such naïvety to technology normally considered immensely smart was, to me, incredibly refreshing. yes some of the plot has been done before but the deistic relationship klara has to the sun combined with her childlike optimism and behavior made this striking and overall worth a read
