The Love You Save: A Memoir
by Goldie Taylor
emotional
informative
reflective
slow-paced
This book was outside of my regular genra which makes it hard to rate.
The book was slow paced, but as it wrapped up I found myself wanting more.
Readers will learn of the traumas of her upbringing. I know I identified with the sense of not feeling like you belong any where. It was empowering to read as she seemed to find her place in the world.
I am curious as to why the book ends while she is still 16. I ended up googling Goldie to find she has had a very successful adult career.
One reviewer said this book would give hope to those dealing with trauma. As I reflect on this book, I struggle to come to terms with my feelings. But I can agree with that sentiment.
