The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

4.0

:’)

This book felt like discovering and old letter from a best friend in the bottom of your memories box from high school.

I really enjoyed the reading experience. Usually not a huge fan of the letters trope, but Chbosky did it surprisingly well.

Charlie is relatable, young, mentally-ill, curious, and *def* autistic. As a neurodivergent person myself, it was rlly nice to see some representation (even if it’s not labeled).

The twist at the end very much caught me off guard and made me sad. Just a friendly reminder that life is unfair. Nothing more.

Wish I had read it in hs, but then again there was something so special about reading it in a sort of nostalgic way.

Read a few weeks after attending rocky horror for the first time and finished it a few days after turning 20.

Will cherish this reading experience forever I think.

Excited to watch the movie w my roommates :)
