This book is so full of magic and heart and tragedy. Anyone who knows the Iliad already knows in many ways how this story will end, but the perspective from Patroclus just brings the reader in. I loved experiencing all of his emotions as he ventured through. Seeing the growth and change in feelings and scenery, and being swept away in the myth. About the end, for those who don’t want to be spoiled:
I cried a significant amount - more than I should admit. It’s so sad, but I also loved the hopeful note of it, even so tragic.
This is definitely one of my favorite books, and I highly recommend it.
