What I am is the Indian who can’t die. I’m the worst dream America ever had.
Not sure if I’ve read a book this raw and heartbreaking, and yet so gory and horrifying. The descriptions of nature, the true harmony and understanding of the land was beautiful to read, to even try to get a glimpse of understanding the Blackfeet had (and still have) with their environment. Truly, the
reveal of the priests’ prior life was one I didn’t see coming until it smacked me in the face
. I found that the story had these sort of lulling moments that were harder to read through, mostly when written in the priests perspective. But it does all really come together well by the end and I’m glad I stuck through those parts. I did also struggle with the verbiage of
Good Stab
but that might’ve been intentional on the authors behalf.
