Killer in High Heels by Gemma Halliday

3.0

Same story, different setting. Although I enjoyed catching up with Maddie Springer, I have to admit that after a while the "dumb blonde" antics start getting old. You don't have to be a genius to figure out that if it involves guns, and you're not a police officer, you probably should not get involved. If your homicide detective boyfriend tells you a situation is dangerous to let him handle it, gee... if a homicide detective says it's dangerous, maybe you should stay out of it and let him handle it. And yet she runs headlong into one dangerous situation after another with complete disregard to any common sense. The lack of personal growth or maturity in the main female character is a definite turn off. Thank God for the supporting characters. They add enough comic relief to actually make you continue reading... barely.
