ihavequalities 's review for:
A Tale of Two Cities
by Charles Dickens
For me reading this was like hiking through a forest following an overgrown trail. Hard at times, but occasionally you break through into a beautiful clearing.
Sometimes I wanted to give up. Not really, but I was never super excited to start reading, but once I was actually reading it, I enjoyed it.
As a point, after I read the book I read an online summary of what happened. Because sometimes I did not understand the reason for why certain actions in the book occurred.
That said, there are some amazingly lovely lines of prose.
And I really liked the ending, and I look more favorably on a book if I really like the ending.
Oh, so it's the story of some people who live during the times of the French Revolution and takes place in London and France. Their lives are bound up in it, and each other lives, in an almost too convenient way.
Enjoy.
