I feel like there is good substance to make this read like a thought-out, coherent story. There's a lot of explicit discussion in the book about hard/soft limits and I think that is a valuable aspect of a healthy kink-oriented encounter that really goes underrepresented in a lot of popular media that explore those themes. Also,

he stopped when she safeworded and was kind/understanding about it, and damn if that wasn't surprisingly sexy to me.
