This was one of the saddest happiest books I’ve read! Social media marketer Samantha meets dreamy but dark vet Xavier. It’s love at first site, they have the perfect first date (sort of) and the next morning… she moves to California forever. She’s moving to help her family care for her mother who has early onset dementia, and this plot of the book is very difficult. Particularly if you have loved ones experiencing cognitive decline, this could be too much for some readers. There is also a plot line with a history of cold abuse. I realize it doesn’t sound like I’m describing a lighthearted romance with such a cheerfully bright cover. And in a way it’s not. But the love story really transcends, how the best love stories do!
Moderate: Child abuse, Dementia
