Prayers for Rain by Dennis Lehane

4.0

I felt like reading a hard-boiled crime novel and this one has gotten me hooked so far. I didn't realize that this was part of a series and it doesn't seem to matter, I like the fact that you can read this one without having to have read the others. Angie Gennaro is such a cool, accomplished detective and I like her style. I could totally see this as a Boston-based t.v. crime show. Though the lead, Patrick Kenzie is the typical hard-grizzled P.I., his partnership with Gennaro is unique and it is cool to see a woman in the role of the adviser in this case. More to come..
