I did enjoy this as a second book! I thought the plot was compelling and was a great addition to the series. The biggest reason for docking stars was pacing. At times it felt so incredibly slow and dragging and made me feel like “what is the point of x, y, z?” And while z would have a purpose, x and y did not and felt like a weird forced addition. Maybe those elements will play a part later in the series, so my review and rating may change. I very much enjoyed the ending and I’m so so SO curious where this story will continue to go.
