Understanding Comics: The Invisible Art by Scott McCloud

As somebody who has never read graphic novels and/or comics before, this textbook did wonders for me! I would definitely recommend it to people who want to know more about the history of comics, and ways to interpret comics. It was so helpful and brought up many points that have been ingrained in our minds, but we haven't really taken time to notice and explain.
This textbook is really great in the way it teaches you--it shows McCloud talking to you as a character in his own textbook. It's almost as if he's talking to you directly, which I believe makes it easier to both read, learn, and have fun while doing it!
