Bakuman, Volume 1: Dreams and Reality by Takeshi Obata, Tsugumi Ohba

I love the humor, art, and characters of this series so much! The plot is both interesting and informative, and Takagi and Moshiro's passion for creating is truly inspiring. There are some sexist comments present, just like in Death Note which is by the same creators, but it's harder to make excuses for them in this series so far. The mothers pictured pretty much hold up the middle schoolers' female ideal of a housewife, but at the same time, both Moshiro and Azuki are very soft-spoken while Takagi and Miyoshi are more aggressive. So I'll have to see how that progresses before I have a defined opinion on it's use in the story.
