No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai

5.0

This definitely warrants a reread at some point.
Three photos, three notebooks, and a lot of misunderstanding. Yozo’s life is a string of poor decisions ultimately leading him no where. It’s semi-autobiographical and the few fleeting moments of human connection/feeling are innately highlighted by the lack of emotion throughout the rest of this. This retelling depicts no regrets, no wishing anything had happened differently, just acceptance and the belief that life is the antonym of sin.
