This is primarily a coming of age story centered on three siblings: Nainoa (the chosen one), Dean, and Kaui.
I enjoyed the magical realism woven into this story.
The POV flips between the three siblings and the parents. Even though it’s first-person POV, each of the voices were unique, which was really impressive.
