Wow. I don't think there are enough words. McCammon definitely has become a favorite writer of mine. After reading [b:Boy's Life|11553|Boy's Life|Robert R. Here we have a tale of what happens after the world nukes the hell out of each other; and how do we as humans survive. Amazing story, epic in scale, and such wonderful characters. I cheered our heroines, Swan and Sister; on as they tackled this new world order, with hope. The despair and evil that tried to catch hold of everyone's humanity, could not withstand that light. Through their tenacity and faith that something bigger than themselves was at work; they gave others hope and power to fight that evil.

Do not listen to those that say this compares greatly to Stephen Kings [b:The Stand|149267|The Stand|Stephen King|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1213131305l/149267._SX50_.jpg|1742269]. Both books are great and deserve praise on their own merits. Are there similarities; yes; but are they the same; No. They are both dystopian, but how they get there and how things resolve themselves are totally different. Do not do a disservice to either author by discounting the work that they both put into such wonderful books.

This is a great tale, that everyone can read and should, at least once.
