Talk about an end to the Puck Boys of Brooks University series! My first introduction to Hannah’s writing was with the first book in this series, Puck Boy. This is the college hockey series people should be reading. Throughout the series we knew very little about Poppy. She’s a dancer, is constantly on the move, and a real bitch. She’d probably take that title with pride. Being that she’s stomped through life with jagged edges I wasn’t sure anyone could melt her cold heart. Enter Walker James. In this childhood friends turned enemies turned lovers story we get to see Poppy learn to trust again from the one person who broke her.

I don’t think I’ve cried as much during a Puck Boy’s book as I did with Last Boy. Their story was so heartfelt. Their individual childhood’s were heartbreaking. Poppy has always had to be the grown up for her family. I don’t want to give away too much as I think reading her story first hand will have a far better impact than anything I could relay in a review. It was incredible to see both Poppy and Walker’s  individual growth.

I loved how this book overlapped events from other books. It was wild to see things from a different perspective. It really goes to prove that everything isn’t always as it seems… and some things are exactly what they seem. I’m sad to say goodbye to Brooks University but we were introduced to some dangerous and exciting new characters. There was so much in this story that made me excited for the Hannah Gray universe to expand.
