Ummmm, I knew this was going to be good (hello, favorite fake dating trope!), but I didn’t know it was going to be THIS good!

First: the chemistry. From the very first interaction between Olive and Adam, I was sold. I always love a grumpy/sunshine trope, and man, this did not disappoint. They’re nerdy, they’re sassy, they’re hot, they’re perfect. Honestly, one of my fav fictional couples.

Second: the plot was adorable and “real” enough for me. Fake-dating tropes are always the best, and this did it justice. Even though this is a fairly light romance, there was enough depth and serious topics to keep it feeling grounded and not too silly.

Third: very cool having the protagonist be a woman in STEM. While I am not in that field (ahem…English teacher here), I do not often see it represented in books, especially romance. Ali Hazelwood included great representation of the discrimination and pressure women endure in this field and was also able to tie in the very real #metoo movement, as well.

Overall, if you want an easy read to make you smile (and blush🌶️🌶️,) pick this up.
