erine 's review for:
Poor Unfortunate Soul: A Tale of the Sea Witch
by Serena Valentino
Some of my problems with this were self-inflicted. Reading an ebook on my phone is never a great choice, and I started with this third book in the series instead of reading from the beginning. There are a fair amount of characters added to tie together disparate fairy tales, and I found myself wishing I'd read the first two books.
My favorite part by far was the neat dovetailing of the story with the Disney movie. Also on the positive side: the cat, and the awkward explanations for Ariel's bad decisions. I struggled with the writing style.
