Tia Louise, the author of The Way We Score, masterfully employs the one-night stand cliché to reconnect main characters Garett and Olivia (Liv), who were high school sweethearts. A wedding, an unexpected pregnancy, and a second chance are all key plot elements interwoven into a story that does not follow the three-act break-up model. Overcoming regret and past decisions is just one component of the plot. The plot is mainly a medium-burn second chance with some fast-paced parts thrown in. Trust is an important element in this story. These two renowned characters recognize that the past may sometimes represent the future and, when done correctly, can be rebuilt. I wholeheartedly recommend reading Tia Louise's The Way We Score.  This book comes out on January 16th, 2025. Readers who would most enjoy this romance are those who love the tropes of surprise pregnancy, First love, second chance romance, close proximity, small town and sports romance!
