The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown
4.0

This book is a gift. I see it as a short ‘how to’ guide on living with our imperfections, vulnerabilities and fears, by fostering courage, compassion and connection. It taught me about overcoming the moments where I feel unworthy because of I am imperfect (shame). And how being truly vulnerable with those who have earned the right to hear my story enables me to feel, process and connect.

Brené Brown’s ideas seem to come from extensive research in the area. However she does little to illuminate to the reader the details of her research process and the data she bases her claims on. You might want to read or listen to more of her after this short introduction.

That being said, I believe the book has so much potential for transformation that I’m sharing The Gifts with others in hope it will help them live a more wholehearted life.
